How to tie : Baby Brook Trout streamer - VIDEO

Its been a while since I posted on this blog so here is a quick little post on how to tie the :
"Baby Brook Streamer"

The pics below are pics of fish actually caught on this fly.  All it takes is a little twitch and the fish can't resist.  I have only used it in pursuit of trout, so if anyone else uses for a different fish, please let me know how it works :)

If you prefer to add some weight go right ahead :)  I personally like it a little lighter to avoid deep snags on branches or deep rocks.  Plus I am not a huge fan of the lead:)

Here a some pics of three different fish caught on this fly pictured below :)

Castle Rock Killer Zonker Fly in Action

Here is a Castle Rock Killer Zonker Streamer I tied up recently.  Check out the action on this fly.  It looks like it is a real fish waiting for food to float by.  The browns love it and so do the Brookies!!

Streamer Madness !! Thanks Currents !!

I had shot an email at John of the blog Currents asking him what kind of streamers he uses in the Driftless and also what techniques work best when using them.  I received an email back saying he would send me a few to try out up here in my area.  So we traded some of his streamers for some of my dries I like to use up here when the fish are rising.  I was excited to get the flies and looked forward to their arrival.  Wednesday the package arrived in the mail.  I opened it up like a kid in the candy store and was super stoked when I saw what was inside!!  Some kick a$$ streamers that I look forward to tossing at some nice big Browns :)  I just wanted to say thanks and that the dry flies are on the way :)  If you haven't checked out his blog yet be sure and do so!  Big Trout, Pike,Carp,Catfish etc.... Great pics as well.  You won't be disappointed.

My Box is looking a lot better :)

Oh man look out trout :)

I have a feeling the Big Browns are gonna love this one.

I can't wait to sink these into some deep holes and see what is hanging out deep :)

I am hoping that they can't resist :)

Whiskey Creations :)

A bottle of whiskey, plus a new pack of hooks, equals a few new flies.  I made the bomber in honor of a good bottle of Whiskey :) I prefer Gentleman Jack.  The second fly has been tied up for opening day of trout season.  Soon the music took over and I lost track of what I was doing and the fly tying ended earlier than expected :)  I ended up creating a few new things using Adobe Illustrator.  Hope you like the new creations.
