I found my old vise the other day when I was doing some rearranging. I decided to give it to the kids so that they could start tying their own flies. Here are some of Oceans and Sephoras first flies off of the vise. They managed to do all of the steps by themselves and I helped them tie them off. I wish my first fly that I tied looked as good as theirs :) Talk about making a Dad proud :) Sorry about the terrible pics, my Nikon is in for repair.

DeleteThnaks a lot. They really get stoked when they end up with a finished fly. Tight Lines.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great way for the kids to spend some time instead of the computer, television, or computer games. I would fish any of those ties any day. Thanks for sharing.
Bill,
DeleteThanks a lot. They love tying flies and I can't wait to test them out with them. I usually only fish my own flies but in this case I will happily make an exception :) Tight Lines.
I couldn't agree more with Blake and Bill! Great work Magee! I took some neighborhood kids ice fishing for there first time this past weekend and they had a blast! The more I get them involved in the outdoors and away from the tube, video games, and computers, the better chance of preserving what we love to do will hold up even longer. Great post!
